How To: Schedule Your Video Email Send

BombBomb gives you two options when sending your emails and video emails:
1) Send your email right now.
2) Schedule your send for any time in the future.
When you choose “send now,” your email heads straight to the job queue and goes out to your recipients’ inboxes right away.
When you choose “schedule,” though, you can choose any date and time in the future for the email to be sent.
Scheduling an email in BombBomb is based on 3 pieces of information:
1) Time (all 24 hours, plus 5 minute increments)
2) Time zone (the basis for the time you select)
3) Date (full calendar that lets you select days, weeks, months, or even years into the future)
3 Reasons You Might Schedule Your Send:
1) You generally prefer to batch your tasks.
For your email, this might mean preparing several emails that you’d like to go out over the next couple weeks, then scheduling them all to be sent. Thursday mornings might be your main email prep time, for example. You can build and schedule a handful of emails all in one session, then move on to other tasks and responsibilities.
2) You’ll be unavailable to send at the time you’d like it to go.
This is a great vacation or holiday option. If you’re going to be out of the office for a week or two, but have specific pieces of communication you’d like to go out while you’re gone, just prep them and schedule them before your vacation.
It’s also a great early morning, late night, or otherwise out of the office option. If you’d like your email to be sent before or after office hours and don’t want to send it manually from home or elsewhere, schedule it in advance.
3) You’ve got a very specific time you’d like the email to arrive.
Perhaps you’ve tested open rates for sends for different days and times and have identified Thursday mornings at 9am as the best time for your open rates. You can schedule that send for Thursdays at 9am. Similarly, you could A/B test your sends by scheduling half of your list for one day and time and the other half for a different one, then track your results to arrive at your best combination.
Or perhaps your message is very time sensitive. One of our customers invites subscribed viewers to a live, online broadcast every week; they schedule an email to be sent an hour in advance of the show describing the topic, reminding them to join them in 60 minutes, and providing a link to log in and watch. Obviously, this should go an hour before the broadcast. Scheduling helps!
